The Big 12 Outdoor Track and Field individual awards were announced, with Texas Tech sprinter Divine Oduduru and Baylor sprinter Kiana Horton taking home Men’s and Women’s Performer of the Year honor.
The six awards were selected by a coaches vote. Texas Tech head coach Wes Kittley and K-State head coach Cliff Rovelto were named Men’s and Women’s Coach of the Year, respectively. Oklahoma high jumper Vernon Turner and Texas distance runner Sam Worley were selected as Men’s Co-Freshman of the Year, while Baylor middle distance runner Aaliyah Miller won the honor on the women’s side.
The Texas Tech men and K-State women won the 2018 Big 12 Outdoor Track and Field Championship on May 13. Big 12 track and field teams earned 293 entries in the NCAA Preliminary Meets on May 24-26 heading into the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship on June 6-9.
