Eight Named Google Cloud Academic All-American

Eight Big 12 student-athletes were named to the 2017-18 Google Cloud Academic All-America Division I Cross Country/Track & Field Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Five from the Big 12 were named first team Academic All-American and three were named second team.

 

Texas Tech graduate student Trey Culver was named Academic All-American of the Year. Culver is a sports management major from Lubbock, Texas, with a 4.0 GPA. Culver is a two-time national champion in the high jump, winning back-to-back titles at the 2016 and 2017 NCAA Division I Indoor Track & Field Championships. He received the Big 12 Conference’s 2017-18 Dr. Prentice Gautt Postgraduate Scholarship earlier this month.
