IRVING, Texas -- Kiara Redmond-Sturms (Oklahoma) has been named Big 12 Gymnast of the Week while her teammate Jackie Flanery has been named Big 12 Event Specialist of the Week. This is the first accolade for Flanery this season and of her career. Redmond-Sturms wins a weekly award for the sixth time in her career, including her fifth this year.

Big 12 Gymnast of the Week

Redmond-Sturms cruised to her Big 12-leading eighth all-around title, leading the undefeated Sooners to their program-best 16th straight win. Her three event titles, highlighted by 9.950s on vault and floor, paced OU to a season-high team score of 196.750 to defeat No. 11 Auburn on Senior Night. The All-American has won 32 event titles on the year, leading all Big 12 gymnasts. With her all-around score of 39.625, Redmond-Sturms has registered the two highest point-totals in the conference this season.

Big 12 Event Specialist of the Week
Jackie Flanery, Oklahoma, Sophomore, Plattsburg, Mo.
Flanery helped guide Oklahoma to its 29th regular season win in the last 30 outings by tying career highs on vault (9.85) and floor (9.875). The sophomore tied for fourth on vault and third on floor against an Auburn squad that ranked 10th and 11th in the nation in the events, respectively.
