Nebraska hosted the first league indoor championship in 1997, in addition to six consecutive meets from 2001-06. Last season the Nebraska and Texas men’s squads shared the Big 12 title. The Huskers claimed a league-leading ninth title (1997-98, 2000-05, ’07), while the Longhorns earned their third. On the women’s side, Texas A&M earned its first indoor crown. Overall, the Husker women (1997, 2000-'01, '04-05) are tied with the Longhorns (1998-'99, '02-'03, '06) at five crowns each.
