Four Big 12 Soccer Student-Athletes Up for Postseason Awards

IRVING, Texas -- Kasey Moore (Texas), Yolanda Odenyo (Oklahoma State), and Ashlee Pistorius (Texas A&M) have been named finalists for the Soccer Buzz Player of the Year award. Alysha Bonnick (Missouri) was tabbed as a finalist for the publication's Freshman of the Year accolade. Pistorius has also been named a semifinalist for the 2007 Missouri Athletic Club Hermann Trophy.

The Soccer Buzz National Player of the Year and National Freshman of the Year will come from a group of 14 finalists for each award. The winners of this top award, which started in 1996, will be announced in mid-December after voting among Division 1 coaches and Soccer Buzz staff.

The M.A.C. Hermann Trophy is college soccer's version of the Heisman Trophy and represents the highest level of individual achevement in the sport. Pistorius, the Big 12's career leader in goals (81) and points (194), was selected as a semifinalist by a committee of Division I coaches who are NSCAA members.

Moore, Pistorius, and Bonnick also received Big 12 Player of the Year accolades as they were named the Defensive, Offensive and Freshman of the Year, respectively.
