IRVING, Texas-- Lindsey Ubrun (Missouri) and Megan Gibson (Texas A&M) have been named the Big 12 Player and Pitcher of the Week, the conference announced. Gibson is receiving her sixth career weekly award and third this season, while this is the first honor for Ubrun.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Lindsey Ubrun, Missouri, 3B, Jr., Riverside, Calif./Maryland
Ubrun led Missouri to a 5-0 record last week defeating UT-Chattanooga, Central Michigan, Purdue, Long Island and Villanova. The junior finished the four-day tournament with a .500 batting average and a 1.313 slugging percentage. She also racked up four home runs, seven RBI, one double, and seven runs. Ubrun now has a conference-leading 10 home runs on the season.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK

Megan Gibson, Texas A&M, P/1B, Sr., Spring, Texas/Spring
Gibson logged two victories last weekend, improving her season record to 14-0. The senior struck out 16 batters in 14 innings of work while holding opponents to a .184 batting average. Gibson recorded a four-hit, complete game shutout over No. 18 UL-Lafayette and struck out nine batters along the way. At the plate, she posted a 1.714 slugging and .800 on-base percentage and added 20 putouts and six assists in the field. Gibson sits in first in the league with nine doubles, 26 walks, eight shutouts and 13 complete games.
