The Big 12 Conference has announced the 2010 All-Big 12 Gymnastics Team, which includes the top four conference gymnasts with the highest regional qualifying score (RQS) in each event and two all-around competitors. RQS figures are based off the final regular-season GymInfo rankings.
Missouri senior Sarah Shire highlighted the annual team, taking all-conference honors in all four events – vault, bars, beam and floor - and in the all-around. She was previously named to the All-Big 12 team on vault, bars and beam as a junior in 2009.
Oklahoma had four receiving multiple All-Big 12 accolades - Megan Ferguson (bars, beam), Natasha Kelley (vault, bars), Kristin Smith (beam, floor) and Hollie Vise (bars, beam).
Shire ranks No. 1 in the nation with an RQS of 39.570, while her beam RQS (9.920) is tied for third. Vise’s beam RQS (9.925) ties for first nationally and her bars RQS (9.920) comes in third.
Nebraska’s Erin Davis landed all-conference honors on vault with a 9.935 RQS that ranks second in the country. Sooner Jackie Flanery was on the All-Big 12 team for floor. Her vault RQS (9.940) leads the nation.
The 2010 Big 12 Gymnastics Championship is set for Saturday, March 27 in Lincoln, Neb. Competition is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. CT at Bob Devaney Sports Center.
